I came across this video on youtube and it struck me as funny. The Diablo III launch didn’t go without it’s hiccups. The servers were up and down for a couple of days after launch. Anyone that had to see these error messages will get this joke.

The servers have become stable. I am really enjoying Diablo III now.

Collectors Edition Games

I have been seeing a few collectors editions being released for games I will purchase. I am writing this piece for the people creating these marketing items. First off as a gamer there is really only a couple of things I will purchase a collectors edition for. The number one factor is in game items. The second would be a T-Shirt. Also is it really limited or are you going to make a million of collector editions?

In game items separate you from the other players. MMO’s and multiplayer alike. It’s neat to have something other players can’t get. You may look different or have some special power. In game items are the main factor I would consider a collectors edition for.

T-Shirt’s! yes I would really consider a collectors edition if it had a T-Shirt in it. I really like T-Shirts. One of a game I like is a bonus. I still would like a Company of Hero’s T-Shirt. You can also do some nice artwork on T-Shirts.

Collectors editions are sometimes limited and sometimes not. If your making a collectors edition as it’s limited, please call it a limited collectors edition. That will make a difference to me as a potential customer. Who doesn’t like to have an unopened limited collectors edition of a really big game. The value can sore.

I have recently passed up two collectors editions. I don’t care about statues. Art books. Musical scores. Behind the scenes information. It’s all fluff and I will toss it in two seconds.

A few game companies have also decided to sell in game the in game items from the collectors version of games. While it may seem like a good idea and you may make a few extra bucks. It leaves the person that shelled out the extra money like they were shafted. It’s not impossible to make new items to sell in game. I say leave the collectors items to the collectors.

The Avengers 3D

I just got back from the Avengers 3D and all I can say is I was impressed. The 3D was fantastic. I would go as far to say you should see it in 3D, and if you didn’t see it in 3D you didn’t see this movie. Sure there will be complainers that they don’t have the extra three bucks. But hey your all going to die from Fukumisha anyway so dig deep while your still alive right?

Really it’s one of the best movies I have seen in a long while. Go see it in 3D.

Company of Heroes 2

The official Facebook feed for Company of Heroes has changed it’s picture to Company of Heroes 2 with some Russian text below it. Apparently it translates to Briefing May 7th. One of my favorite games Company of Heroes has stood the test of time. We can only hope the next iteration is as good as the original.

The Elder Scrolls Online Announced

Bethesda has announced just seconds ago that they are working on The Elder Scrolls Online. Details of the new title will be in next months Game informer magazine.
We will have to see how this turns out but I thought The Elder scrolls was doing quite well as a single player game. It was able to do a lot your average cookie cutter MMO was unable to do. What about all the mod support? Most mmo’s don’t let you mod at all. If nothing else this makes Skyrim even more valuable.

Modern Warfare 3 Issues unresolved?

I am writing this post for the Modern Warfare community. A user has brought up the topic so I will move his post to this thread. Apparently there are bugs or issues that have been unresolved six months after release. I have not played Modern Warfare 3 so I am unsure if these claims have any merit.
