The Thing 2011
The original Thing is near and dear to my heart because it scared the hell out of me. This one is the prequel to the Carpenter remake with the Norwegians finding the shapeshifter trapped in ice. Many of the same fear triggers are there but the masterclass vision of this impossible creature is made possible by the fx team. The plot walks in the foot steps of find the suspect that is infected but make no mistake my friend this is a good story. I thought for a while about how fast the tissue morphs and compared it to normal fast cell activity.Think about how hot a skin infection is. Rate of this cell engine with fast-moving growth would cause intense bursts of heat.
